I took a few of these from around 15 metres away, shooting in full view with my 70-200 until the girl spotted me and let her boyfriend know... I'm a bleeder, not a fighter... so I got out of there... hehe.

I was shooting at 200mm, f4.5, ISO 200.

great job on the b&w, his attitude makes this shot very interesting .. I like how she is playing with her hands.

I really like the lighting and shadows and use of high contrast - it accentuates the girl very well - but the glare of the boyfriend really makes the shot - he looks quite annoyed

i am glad that you can run fast so you could get out of there!

I've looked at this a few times now and am just now getting around to commenting on it. It makes me laugh. He doesn't look amused -- but all of us here are privy to the behind-the-scenes story, and the average viewer probably wouldn't get it. Good job!

My impression is close to Melethia's: the young woman is so self-possessed.

Great capture, but that fellow does not look happy with you.

I love the sharpeness and focus on the girl, and also love your processing. (I'm not a fighter either, so my strategy consist on taking my boyfriend with me ;)

Good job on the b&w -- and you managed to control the exposure despite the strong sunlight on their faces.

Sometimes in that situation (after sizing up the subjects, of course), I'll show them the photo display and say something truthful like "I hope you don't mind, I'm practicing my street photography and you seemed like an interesting subject" (or whatever the case may be). I've offered to email people any photos, too, and have done so a few times.

He does look as though he's seriously sizing you up to determine if kicking your a$$ is worth the effort or not... She strikes me as very self-assured.

Chicken! Only joking. I would have done the same. At least you got one good shot.
