Thanks so much, Louis. I do appreciate your feedback. I agree with you completely, actually. I really am not happy with this image, even though it does have some elements that I like. I wasn't sure what it would need to be improved, and your suggestions helped.
Also, I just want to add that this was actually shot at Frank Sinatra's house, and perhaps I was counting on that to add to the picture. Just goes to show that a person's eye is far more important than just a location.
Thanks again.

This is strongly reminiscent for me of the studio portraits of female stars of the forties and fifties - all attitude atop a strong but leashed feminine sexual provocativeness. The somewhat bland domestic elements -- potted plants, ordinary doorframe -- simply add to this for me. It's a great model and a great position. What makes it less successful is the centred composition (if she had been to the left or right of the photo's edge it might have been more dramatic and interesting) and the choice of landscape vs portrait. I understand you probably wanted to get those plants in there, but if it were in portrait orientation, you still cold have gotten just a hint of the left one, which would have been much more interesting, and you could have focused tightly on her, which would have been more satisfying. The softness, while not inappropriate, isn't as successful for me than if it were sharper.

I appreciate the feedback :-) I have no idea how to tilt. Lame, huh? Will try your other suggestions.

A tilt here, crop there, bump the contrast a bit and voila - a star is born! :)
