It is difficult to judge this one. I would like the baby to have been in better focus,
but then the baby is not the subject. What is behind the baby is the subject, and you can barely see that at all.

Clever idea and very nice pic.

I like the flower, baby is a little distracting.

I know it would be really hard to do, but I think it would be cool if the baby was holding the flower. I don't think this shot could have been done with basic editing but it makes it stand out more. I don't see why the title isn't capitalized, but won't affect my score. Interesting shot.

Hopefully i'm not alone in saying this, but this doesn't really scream of a "where i live" picture to me. In fact, it would only really fit the challenge if you happened to be greenfly or something living in the flower, then that i could understand. It's not a bad photo; the colours of the flower are bold and details of the flower are very sharp. Did the blurry background come out like that in the camera, only it looks a little too fake and a bit too contrasting to me. Also, it looks like the kid has a box of matches and is about to torch the poor innocent flower - so you should get marked down a bit for wanton cruelty to horticulture ;) (in case you're wondering - you didn't!)

Excellent picture of a dandelion - great job of destaturating except for the flower. The photo seems to be more about the dandelion than where you live.

Not quite sure it fits the category.

I like the picture for a different challenge. It would have done very well in the DOF challenge. I'm not sure it will do as well in this one.

I like much: The simplicity of the shot. - The desaturated backgournd.
I like less: the way you fited it to the challenge theme.
Score: 9

The flower bring all the attention even if it's not (I suppose!) the main subject of this photography. The theme of the challenge being where you live i think having the baby in the lower left or right of the picture with lot of depth of field and without the disturbing flower would have been the right choice to my taste. The perfection would have been leaving the color in the entire picture.

I don't get a great sense of 'where you live' from here. The spot color is a tad dated, too. Cute kid, though!

I thought it would be impossible not to meet the challenge, but you are getting close. Nevertheless, a creative choice to make the flower sharp and colorful and the child B&W and out of focus. But I don't like image with partial desaturation. Sorry not appealing to me.

Great idea. I'd like to see the top of the baby's head - and I would not center the subject.
