well, this one was quite a journey...one of those where I had no idea what I was going for until I got there

brought it in from RAW after establishing a relatively low clarity setting;
did a couple of passes of 'defog' USM (20/@140 or so for a 12mp image/2)
played in channel mixer and found this setting, which I set as a preset and called "night IR" - red channel: -1/-52/-4, green channel: 0/+44/0, blue channel: 0/+49/+100
heavy gaussian blur, fade to something low, about 25%
less heavy gaussian blur, fade again to something low
hue/sat layer - took down the blue sat about -8; took down the master sat also about -8
applied a mild vignette
used the Midnight filter in Nik Color Efex, with some tweaking of the settings
hue/sat again, to change the blue hue slightly
levels to bring up the black point slightly
resize and hit with a slight high pass at some mid-range opacity, some masking out of areas

The blue definitely adds a mystery feel to this shot. It does have some sort of feeling of looking at a moon lite scene, nice.

not sure if I like the blue, but I love the rest of it. that birdhouse is a nice focal point, and the darker leaves add to the mystique.

Well worth the journey! The color is really great. Lots of mystery in the shot and plenty to look at in it too. With IR each picture is unique and I too am never quite sure where it will end up with the processing. I may start in one direction, but sometimes it tells me to change. Part of the enjoyment of IR photography for me.
