I was given this doll by my mother on my 5th Birthday - she had made her a beautiful bridal gown - she was such a huge part of my childhood.

Through the years my mother would use scraps of fabric from the clothes she made us to make 'Bridie' her clothes.

I had a dress matching the one Bridie is wearing in this image - doesn't fit me any more - but Bridie has kept her figure.

Beautifully done and woefully underappreciated. Even without your comments, this doll tells of a history.

The little homemade dress tugs at my heart cause my mom used to do the same thing. Adorable.

Wow, nice shallow DOF. It pulls you right into the dolls eyes. Lighting is nice and soft. Good shot.

I wish I could see a bit more of her eyes.

i think i love the softness and colour and beauty of this pic, and the fact that my sis had a doll just like it and i never did!!

This would have been better with a closer crop of just the Head.
although the color is nice, the dolls body seems to occupy too much room and that distracts from the overall composition

I like that you've done this shot from above rather than the standard 3/4 portrait view. I think that even with the shallow depth of field, the lace trim is still a little bit distracting, as the focal point seems to be the eyes. I think you could probably go even more shallow, or maybe shift the doll or just turn her head to put a her dress a little more into the shadow.

Hasn't aged too badly, has she?
