The Auburn Cord Duesenberg Festival Parade of Classics is one of my favorite photo ops during the year. After the parade, they park all the cars around the Dekalb County Courthouse and along surrounding streets. This shot is of a pair of Auburn Boat Tailed Roadsters - the hood ornament of a green one aligned with a side emblem of a red one. These are incredible automobiles that were guaranteed to be able to surpass 100 mph (each was test driven at more than 100 on surrounding county roads, and had a plaque on the dash giving the name of the tester, and the test speed reached) - and they were built in the mid- to late-30's.

Id would prefer the green car's ornament in focus as opposed to the reds as my eye is immediately drawn to this.

Wow, these machines had great lines and style.

I REALLY like your DOF and choice of focus on this! I would have (wrongly) tried to get both sharp or be tempted to make the closer one sharpest.

Great job on aligning the ornaments. The more I look, the more I like this, and the more I find myself bumping up your score. Worthy of page 1.

Very cool idea (and cars)! Like the creative use of focus, but I think in this situation having the foreground in focus would be better for the simple reason that the background lady isn't as sharp nor the lines as clear as they could be to make the lady pop, in my opinion of course. I know the inverse of what you have done is more typical, so I applaud your attempt at the a sharp background!

Nice image - Wish the front one was sharp and the furthest was unsharp as it's a little too big and distracting.

I would have preferred a little more DOF to put both ladies in focus. Nice idea and good solid colours though.

Nice capture! I'm not sure if leaving more of the cars in would have had added to or taken away from the shot?
