Ok, I pray this shot does reasonably well, I have had my daughters in tears all day creating it, the doll was due to go to Charity but I decided to make use of it instead.

I cut open the head to roll the eyes, burnt holes in the top of the head to implant the longer hair, stuck fur on to create the shorter hair (the doll had no hair at all to start with), reshaped the mouth and dimple below the nose with a soldering iron, reshaped all the eye sockets and forehead with plastercine and then covered the whole thing in tons of my wifes makeup (She was none to pleased either LOL), I then modelled the teeth in plastercine and dyed between them with ink to give them more depth.

The lighting setup was pretty simple: An Interfit flash lamp high to camera left with a gold reflector high above camera right, shot at night in almost total darkness so I had complete control over the lighting and results.

I so nearly gave up with this after 5 hours of modelling because the make-up I used that would cover the plastercine had scrubbing grit in it (like a cleansing moisturising thingymabob LOL) and it looked awful, but I let it dry then used a paint brush and lots of patience to clean it up and get it all grungy...

No matter how this one goes I love the shot - but it would be nice if others do too ;)

lol, you're a sick man. Actually you should know about a chucky story from here.....you may even have heard about it. In Tasmania, where i originally came from, there was a guy who was a bit of a recluse, had a rough time at home and school, and was addicted to chucky. One day he watched several episodes of it, then packed his old yellow volvo up with his surfboard on the top, and a machine gun in the back seat. He drove down to a place called Port Arthur, which is the historic ruins of one of the first penal settlements in Tasmania. He walked into the tourist filled restaurant with his gun, and said "don't f^&* with the Chucky", then mowed down anyone who didn't manage to duck and cover in time. He then went out to a couple of tourist buses and blasted anyone he could find with his gun, still saying the same thing. He managed to kill 35 people in a short space of time, before finally being captured.
I don't think I'll ever look at that doll in the same way again, so will now apologise for giving you a rather reactive 5 on that challenge, lol. You did a great job of recreating a very scary image, well done - even though i hate it, lol :-)

Has anyone in the history of DP Challenge gone to more effort? Have your daughters recovered??? LOL

It's a crazy pic with a real element of HOW DID THEY DO THAT? Always scores high with me.

GREAT shot!

Pretty creepy but an interesting take on the topic! I think I'd like a sharper focus, but the comp and lighting are good to create a scary atmosphere.
