Hiking on the trail along the Bear Lake Road. The tree in the foreground shows much damage from the pine bark beetles, as evidenced by the "pitch tubes" on the tree trunk. Those expulsions of sap are the trees' attempt to expel the invasive beetles. The multi-year drought and ciimate change have favored the beetles over the trees in this ancient battle for survival. The buses and cars in the national park are very obnoxious and disruptive of the ecology. The trails allow access. We don't need the blacktop roads and parking lots.

I like the blacktop roads and the parking lots the best!

I like the road in the distance. It adds to the tale.

I like the thought behind this but do wish the bright home in the background had been burned a bit so as not to be distracting, but maybe you left it as a contrast to the hiker? Anyway, nice shot and motion from the hiker. 7

Some of these titles are too mushy and faddish.

You almost had me. Now if you would have said 'Smaller Carbon-based Life-form Footprint' I would have been all over it!

love the idea of this shot....really shows the subject but, the blur of the hiker is a bit distracting from the actual subject of the road/trail

The man, out of focus, does not work for me. However, like the idea of what you were trying to acheive

a case where slow shutter speed makes it more interesting - a big debate on this topic

I really like the complimentary textures and colours. Not sure about your subject being blurred as it is a bit distracting. I can also see the highway below which has a bus driving by.
