Try more contrast to add some impact. It's all grays.

I gave you a really low score for this photo, sorry. This is because the image does not contain a good tonal range, so is not visually pleasing to me.

The tones overall seem a little too dull and almost seems out of focus 5

No disrespect intended here, but where's the white in "Black and White"? The image is coming across as mostly middle-tone grey. The B/W tonal range is very thin and lacking in contrast.

Regarding the subject matter - that is an interesting looking mushroom. :-)
