Challenge: The Road Less Traveled (Basic Editing)
Camera: Canon EOS-400D Rebel XTi
Lens: Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6
Location: My home
Date: Aug 23, 2008
Aperture: f/7.1
ISO: 400
Shutter: 1/125 sec
Galleries: Humorous, Floral
Date Uploaded: Aug 23, 2008

I took this picture at my front door. My wife was nice enough to pose for it...especially since she got to keep the flowers. I did some basic color adjustment to try to bring out the red in the flowers.

Oh WOW - I love this and aren't you lucky you have such a beautiful model - GRIN!

I think you might find that it's a bit dark, but that's a really good score when you look at the spread - 5 10's and 5 9's is wonderful!

Perhaps a little tweaking with 'Brightness/Contrast'. But I think this is great!

Congrats on the good result! I think it should have been even better. The people giving you low votes obviously just didn't get it. This was by far the most creative entry in the challenge and it perfectly meets the theme!

Too cute. One of my favourites so far. 9

Nice story implied here. I wonder, though, if a slightly face-on shot showing the nervousness might not be more emphatic?

Nice interpretation of the challenge. I also like the lighting quite a bit.

A very original idea, and well done. Obviously a path less taken.

don't go! it's too dark and scary, and he needs to fix his front stoop!

Nice take on the theme, I personally think a plain white dress would have added a bit more impact in the shot and given a bit more definition to the flowers - over all though I like this one.

A very good photo but I'm not seeing 'Less Traveled'. Is it that girls don't traditionally make the effort to 'Woo' guys and society still thinks that guys should 'Woo' girls? Hmmm? Ok, sold! Nice job: 9

This is an unusual take on the challenge, but definitely meets the challenge in my eyes. I love the humor here. Unfortunately I do not see this as being DPC friendly. I give you kudos for taking the risk. Thanks for the smile.

I'm sure he likes assertive women. Why wait for him to come around, eh? I suspect you are getting killed with low DNMC votes, but I see how this fits the idea. Not caring for the bit of a skew on the porch. I like the somewhat retro color treatment, though.

I like your take on the theme but for me the image could be better. I'm not sure about the angle for even the crop. Too bad it wasn't advanced editing. I think this would look cool if everything was in B&W accept the flowers. Atleast you took the time to shoot something and get it in which is more than I can say for myself.

That is a nice twist.

What a great idea for this contest.
I really enjoy the fact that she is off center, and the flowers are the main subject with colour. Good job. 10

Nice to see a shot that is not quite so literal. I *get* it. ;-)

Nice take on the theme. The area above her head looks pretty washed out black, which is a bit offputting for me. Maybe shot from slightly lower down and cropped in tighter would have been better?

Finally! Someone who didn't just take a picture of a path or a road, but thought about the meaning of the challenge topic! Thank you! Great idea, but the picture is a bit too far on the dark side for my taste.

"You have rated 124 of 127 images (98%) in this challenge" - and then I get to this one and say "YES! FINALLY!" If this doesn't ribbon, it's a shoe-in for a posthumous.

Very nice idea! I like the processing. One question: where were you when I was dating? ;)
