I agree with Mephisto.
Looks like those planes are returning to my country, England, from those fields. It is an interesting set of scans - but the photos themselves are where the real value lies. |

wow, what an unsentimental comment! I was born and raised in Dresden so these pictures make my heart feel like somebody stabbed it with a knife. I know it's all history and we shouldn't look away from what has happend (i'm not proud of the germans either who killed 6 million jews), but i just think your comment is very inappropriate on an international forum (or any forum for that matter).
and even though i have very different feelings than what appears some people here have about these shots, i think they're a great "zeitzeugnis" and legacy of your brother in law's granddad! |

My heart sank a little reading that after scanning many pics.
This is like 75 years later.
These pictures have become a little emotional to me. |
