This gives a very good sense of the size that hollyhocks get to be, with the house providing perspective and structure. Also happens to show their natural environment in many cases - at home, where people plant them. Nice light, great detail on the leaves. |

Ohhh. The flowers are pretty but the background is too overpowering. The roof is ok. . . its those windows that get in the way. |

That harsh sunlight screams August in the Southwest to me. I'm starting to sweat just looking at this! |

I'm going to be contrary and say I like the roof as a background quite a bit, but not the house below (not enough contrast and too many other details). So I might just crop differently, or shoot from a slightly lower angle. |

Flowers are great. Love the white color.
It would also look good (maybe even better) if you could
isolate one or more of them against the sky or a plain background
The rooftop, etc. is just a touch busy... |
