 I've actually never played chess before.
I once did a shot just like this of my brother playing, with the other 'players' legs (mine lol) showing. Decided to do another of myself, with my fisheye and the tripod over my brothers legs (the tripods legs cropped out). I didn't like the yellow lamps, or the coloured clutter under the coffee table so I did it in B&W)

My living room is fairly dark so I bounced my flash off of my white ceiling. :)

It would be really cool if the pictures on the wall were actually curved like that.
