I always use a tripod when shooting macros. I also use a remote shutter and lock up the mirror. Even the smallest of movements blows the shallow focus. Windy days are hopeless macro days.

Wow. I love the bejeweled head in addition to those awesomely way cool eyes. Great detail, great color. Hand held or do you use a tripod? I can't get that lens steady enough for shots like this. Fascinating little bugger.
