 ...but I didn't. It was a very busy bee. The way I see it, I either have what it takes to get the shot...or I don't. There are no 'do-overs' in photography & the illusion of control is only an illusion. This is my best bee shot so far, though. I keep my camera on continuous burst mode all the time & for this bee I just kept shooting as it moved. This is the first day not in the high 90's so I got to walk the botanical garden. Yay!

Thanks for the kind comments! I wear black when I go out shooting (usually) so I don't create little hot spots of unwanted color--I think I am reflected in his eye but since I'm wearing black, it's hard to be sure.

And now we know why the username pixelpig. You really gobble them up to get the shot. Any closer and we would have seen your reflection in his eye!

How fast was your shutter speed? Faster is better when trying to "stop" a moving bug! This is very close so I'm sure you'll get what you're after soon. I kind of like the motion in the leg, actually. Caught him pawing through the flowers to get to the good parts, which is a typical bee movement.

Nice capture, those little guys move so much that is difficult to get a sharp picture of them, but I'm pretty sure you have what it takes to get the perfect shot. Good job
