At took this picture at the Beach here in Toronto. I t started to rain while we were on our way to the Beach and since it was still raining a bit when we arrived there, we almost turned right around to go home. We decided to stay, though, and luckily for us, the sun came out--and, as it was by then quite late in the day, the light turned beautiful. The little house on stilts is, of course, the lifeguard station.

I really like this shot. The subdued colours, and the fine details make it a really pretty seaside scene. Looks like a vintage photograph.

The composition is fine on this. May be a tad tight on the left curve nearly bumping the left side of the frame. From the POV you chose the horizon is nearly centered. A lower profile on this would be interesting.

This photo appears to be quite natural, which is fine overall for the family album of a vacation destination, etc... A little more tweaking in post-processing would elevate this for the DPC voters IMO. After the challenge is over, post this image in a forum for feedback, suggestions, ideas, and see what you get. You'll be amazed by the editing choices and results others' may bring to this.

All JMO of course. :-) Good luck in the challenge.

This is very quaint, but could use a bit of punch. Perhaps some more contrast...b&w processing might work well here, too.

Maybe some more contrast? The curve of the shore takes us to the building but we then head off down the wharf and find...nothing :(

a little more contrast would help this pop more, because its a little flat in lighting (though i doubt you can control that) i do like the leading line of the shoreline

just lacks a wow factor...the people in the image spoil it
