 This azalea bush is about 10 or 12 ft high, w/lots of blossoms, quite a show in spring. The original capture was very flat, so all my PP was directed toward increasing the contrast. I used a reflecting surface to create the BG. It still lacks proper contrast, IMO, but at least now it has some zip. I honestly don't remember all my editing steps. C&C welcome.

Thanks for the comments everyone, & thanks for the question drydoc. I should maybe say the original was too flat for me. It's a personal thing.

I really like it! It does look like you sketched it and I love the black outline around the leaves and petals. Really makes it pop out! Great job!

Wow, your processing works very well on this shot. I especially like the way the edges look pencil-drawn. The vivid azaleas look so good against the more pastel background.

I came back to look at this several times before commenting. Also read your comments several times. My only thought is: Why does it have to have contrast? Why can't it be the soft color composition that it is? And a very good one at that. The bright flower is coming at you and the green stays back. And that is that.
