I like this image.

I had to read the title before I realized what the odd striping was. A very odd and interesting affect. I would never have taken my camera into the rain. I too am distracted by the stem to the right. To my eye, cropping about the lower 1/3 of the image would have created a more balanced image.

I am not sure what to think of the dead flower. I often take photos of dead flowers because they have a lot of interest, but in this case it is not in the focal plane, so it almost distracts...not sure.

Love the main flower and the contrast of it against the dead one.

One bit of CC I would give is that as this was fairly heavily processed anyway I would have removed the very vertical stem from the image as well, this would have allowed for a slightly tighter crop to the right which I think would give a little more balance to the overall image.

Still I do really like this, one thing that really is interesting is the way the background suggests movement and the flowers are perfectly still, that's a really nice effect.

I like the contrast of light/dark, and life/death here. The texture adds to the atmosphere of the image while not being overpowering.
