I like this image.
I had to read the title before I realized what the odd striping was. A very odd and interesting affect. I would never have taken my camera into the rain. I too am distracted by the stem to the right. To my eye, cropping about the lower 1/3 of the image would have created a more balanced image.
I am not sure what to think of the dead flower. I often take photos of dead flowers because they have a lot of interest, but in this case it is not in the focal plane, so it almost distracts...not sure. |

Love the main flower and the contrast of it against the dead one.
One bit of CC I would give is that as this was fairly heavily processed anyway I would have removed the very vertical stem from the image as well, this would have allowed for a slightly tighter crop to the right which I think would give a little more balance to the overall image.
Still I do really like this, one thing that really is interesting is the way the background suggests movement and the flowers are perfectly still, that's a really nice effect. |

I like the contrast of light/dark, and life/death here. The texture adds to the atmosphere of the image while not being overpowering. |
