The processing is wholly intentional - the light reminded me of Hopper paintings so I played it up.

I liked this......the road bugged me a little, but the harsh lighting, the ropes & posts, and the boots all bespake the incidental, yet necessary, chore that this is.....nice!

Just my opinion here- If you don't know how to use hdr or tone mapping processes DONT use it.

Looks to me like you went overboard on the shadow/highlites tool. It just doesn't look natural (IMO)
