 Gosh, this seems quite dark now I look at it again. May add a new edit.

This is the famous Liver Building in Liverpool, UK. Liverpool celebrated it's 800th anniversary as a city this year and is also the European City of Culture for 2008. It also happens to be my home town and I am immensely proud to be a Liverpudlian!

During the weekend of July 19th/20th, Liverpool played host to the Tall Ships 2008 race. This pic was taken from the top of one of the tallest buildings in Liverpool (it has a restaurant at the top).

I like the odd juxtaposition resulting from this vantage point - city in front, with all the people, the roads, the light poles - then that lovely stretch of water and puffy clouds beyond. Nice composition! Works well in B&W, too.
