Sort of a "Honey I Shrunk the Kids" view of the lawn. Tons of these little guys (Striped Ground Crickets; I looked them up) as well as a world of other bugs in my lawn. Never really noticed quite how much variety lived there till I started exploring with the camera and an extension tube.
Got lucky with two crickets in the frame at once (not surprisingly they're jumpy little things so I was thrilled to get any of them!). I like the little one peering into the dark hollow in the grass. Who knows what lurks there?
And it looks like I need to have my lawnmower blade sharpened ;-) Though now that I've looked so closely I'm gonna' feel like I'm murdering thousands next time I mow the lawn!
