The sunburst in the shot is quite dramatic on its own, but the remainder of the image lacks detail and interest. That is not to say that this is a bad shot at all, but beyond the flare, the viewer is left with a black void base extending to the tree tops, a flat, blue sky and nothing in between. Compared to your entry, which has depth, color, texture and movement and allows the discovery with movement of the eye, this one is a bit sparse and directs the viewer to a singularity in the image that, while dramatic, is lacking in substance. It is a quality capture still, but your entry was more engaging.
