 We received this nice small photo booklet today with some photos made by me. (I did send in some photos without having any idea what they were going to do with it). A very nice surprise, so I had to make a photo of it. Think I have to tell the story behind it.

Two years ago my wife got breast cancer. (After a very difficult period things are going luckily alright now). Some months ago a local breast cancer association asked paintings made by breast cancer patients to celebrate their 25th anniversary with an exposition in shops in Maastricht (for us the other side of the country). The local tourist office had planned a one hour walk through the town, so you could see all of the paintings. My wife is painting for years , so she sent in some photos and was asked to send in two paintings. Of course we went to the opening of the walk, opened by the wife of the mayor. It was on Day 1 of my series of cups in June. Just reading back my own comment I made there: well, this is the story.

What a wonderful book. Thanks for sharing a very personal slice of your life. The artwork is rather moving and definitely lets us see a small glimpse of what someone may be feeling when dealing with such a major personal battle.
