this is my favorite tree. i love its location. right on the border of texas and oklahoma at lake texoma, appropriately named. i flew home for the 4th of july and i always make it a point to take a photo of this tree. my brother (shooting buddy) and i took a fast break from early fireworks to go catch the sunset, going 60mph on backroads in order to make it. i was excited to see the challenge was landscape.

Colors, simplicity, composition and light. Nice work.

I,m with you on this one but it seems most DPC voters require deeply saturated and/or polarised skies.

I liked the photo, but thought it would have been better with a different crop. Perhaps 3:1 with the horizon on the bottom third line. As it stands I find there to be too much grass and too much of the uninteresting blue upper sky. I would try to put the focus on the middle third of the photo with the gorgeous red sky/clouds and a thinner slice of the horizon. The exaggerated length of the 3:1 crop might also fit with your title better. As it stands, I don't really get sweeping wind from the image.

simple but nice. I totally dig lone trees.

Maybe a tighter crop on the right. Not so much to take away all of the pink, but enough to make the tree seem even more "out of place."
