 I had a chuckle just now when I read through the current thread for this challenge. Scalvert actually said "so it stands out like a neon-colored lighthouse in the fog". Oh crap!

Taken at Castlehill Light in Newport, RI, the site of where nshapiro and I took our January Free study entries. Was in the neighborhood this weekend, so I popped over for 2 nights of shooting (the first night my battery died just as I was getting ready to take this comp, so I had to go back a second night!)

PP - slight rotate, and crop. cloned out a couple of dust spots, and a single green streak from a passing boat. Also, a specular reflection from the lighthouse. Noise Ninja, layer for curves just to brighten the entire image. USM at large radius, then small. resize and added border. save for web.

I didn't know this was yours - you'd think I'd recognize the location at least! At any rate, it's a gorgeous shot, perfect for the challenge, and I love the amount of detail. Very well processed and congrats on a great score!

Very nicely done! I'm jealous you went back! I want to go back, but it's a bit far for a casual ride. Must have been a bit spooky there at night though, walking on the rocks. (At least I'm sure it was warmer!)

Beautiful! It looks like there's some lens diffraction in the uper left corner of the lighthouse, which is easily fixed in PS. You can either clone it out, or try your luck with the diffraction correction tool. Other than that, it's a nice shot.
