While trying to get some photos of lemurs, this peacock decided I was a territorial threat and promptly displayed his wonderful feathers. Of about 30 shots taken, I chose to submit this one which, while not showing a single point of colour, does represent the points of colour as the main subject. I love it and hope others do too.

Shot in jpeg ... not in RAW this time (shame I wish I had this in RAW). Photoshop work - cropped to fixed aspect ratio, slight adjustments in levels and curves, a minor boost in selective colour to the cyan, USM and resize.

Hi Jane,

Nice image. Your composition/Framing is dead on and your exposure is really well done. The colors are nice and rich and I really like the way you captured the sutle greens. The image is nice and clean, tac sharp and the details are wonderful. The texture in the feathers is really nice also. The image has plenty of interest & held my attention completely. The title fits the challenge imo, overall this is a really nice image that is really well done.

While this is a spectaular image, the repeative patterns make it a weak challenge entry. Considering the title you chose, I get the impression you intended this as a protest to the constrains of the challenge discription. Not usually a wise move if you're hoping to score well.

The point is to get laid? Because that's why peacock's flash their feathers...
