I had so many great shots of the Seattle fireworks, but none of them really fit the challenge but this one.

I agree with everything the commenters said.

I'll be the annoying counterpoint person - I quite like when fireworks shots include the foreground - gives them perspective and balance. For this challenge, and for DPC, probably a crop would be better, but to me that makes it kinda boring.

I'm thinking that cropping everything below the skyline, so that just the firework against the black night sky would add more impact.

I said this was the fireworks challenge.
Like the composition here , but in terms of the topic, you would have done better croping more tightly.

The city foreground doesn't add anything to the image, and is sort of ugly. The firework explosion is the focus of your image, and the crop should reflect that. Get rid of the other stuff and focus on that beautiful pink explosion!
