 Simple portrait.

Actually this is a test shot for a portrait session, but it turned out to be the best of the bunch.

Natural light through window with a flash bounced off of ceiling.

RAW development in Lightroom followed by 6-7 adjustment layers in CS2.

Maybe I don't understand something about this...but the veil covering the eye doesn't make sense to me.

to me tehre are too many distracting highlights in her eye, and the hood isnt very subtle enough, kinda reminds me of my grandmas tablecloth, but aside from that, i like the concept you were going for

I like the composition, but the lighting seems a little dead. If you set your white balance to cloudy +1 or +2, you'll get a warmer tone that will liven up the light

Great idea but either go for a closer crop or zoom out a bit.
