 Taken from a houseboat on the broadwater at the Gold Coast. The seagull is actually a few feet behind the pelican who is watching my brother throw food from the top deck and the gull is coming forward for a bit of the action. Might post more of the sequence later.

Basically just cropped, duotone, dodge & burn, and combined a blown highlight on one wing with another exposure of the same raw file. Sharpened, NI, resize, add border, save for web.

This image is drawing an unusual response from me: I love it one second, doubt it the next. It is without doubt lovely and luminous, sharp and stunning. And it almost seems too good to be true, as if it is made from a couple of images. Not that that should bother me, but it does. Either way, you did get to me, and made me pay attention here. 9
