This is a wind turbine just down the road from me. Towering 85m over junction 11 of the M4 motorway, the turbine is the UK's most visible, seen by as many as 60 million people a year.

Another with my new Tokina 11-16mm @ 11mm

The Green Park turbine supplies 100% green energy straight into the local grid, to the benefit of over 1,000 homes and businesses in the area.

Critique Club Review:

Color, Saturation and Hue: Colors are bright, and fit the subject. Nothing is over saturated.

Brightness and Contrast: Both are done well. Nothing is blown out, shadows hold detail well.

Focus and depth of field: Focus is very sharp, depth of field is appropriate for this image.

Subjective: Meets challenge well. It's green and it is colored green. A two-for-one deal. Nice interpretation.

Things I would have liked to seen. Either more clouds or fewer clouds would have worked better for me. I liked the layered clouds in the bottom half of the picture. The puffy clouds at the right, distracted the eye and pulled it towards the edge. As did the tree at the right edge. If the windmill were more towards the left of the frame, perhaps the tree at right could have been used to provide scale. Cropping the tree out would have worked well also. As is, the windmill is a bit centered.

Overall a very interesting photo, a nice take on the challenge, and a well deserved top 25 finish.

Could have made more of that strong subject.

These windmill shots usually are dull dull dull. Thanks for getting up close and taking a new tact. Among the better entries of this challenge. - 6

I like the title and the perspective. Perhaps a little different time of day as the light on the pole is quite harsh at the base. Great that your shot is NOT title dependent and meets the challenge. :)

Some kind of perspective here! Not usually allowed too close to the monsters either. Good take on the challenge.

Very dramatic viewpoint of the windmill. I love how these guys are painted to blend in. The colors are dramatic but the framing from the trees a bit cramped (especially on the right).
