Broadleaf Plantain flower spike; not in full bloom yet. Technically a weed. I'm not very fussy about what's growing in the yard as long as it's green and not poisonous.

I've had a couple of good scores so it's time to crash! I entered this specifically because I rarely find a single line interesting, so this was challenging. Searched for something textured and went with a diagonal but not symmetrical composition to try and make the line more interesting. Also went for some bokeh and color changes in the background, but not so many as to overwhelm the line. I think it works, and it's even a relatively straight line (not that I think that's a requirement, but I'm betting some voters expect that).

We'll see.

PP - converted from RAW, cropped, increased saturation and contrast, airbrushed some blue into upper right corner to cut down on blown spots some, cloned/blurred dark green spots in background that bugged me, blurred what looked like a hair on the lens, added border, resized, sharpened with noise reduction, increased saturation on flower and burnt lower bits some.

Love the shallow dof here, and the bokeh it created in the background. I like that you chose to crop so that the line is cut off on both sides, too. There is something about the coloring which feels off, and unfortunately it's the same thing I notice with my shots and never quite know how to fix without just fiddling with PS. Nicely done though overall.

I like the textures. Seems a bit flat in that I'm having a hard time separating the foreground and background greens.
