Day #18 of shoehorns presses on with this view of the stunning Dallas Skyline for the "Urban Landscapes" challenge.

Held the shoehorn in front of my monitor using a pair of hemostats. Did a bit of cloning to blend shoehorn tower in around the grassy hill. (No, it's NOT the grassy knoll!)

Then I played around with various colors and treatments until I decided that B/W looked best, but it still reminded me of a cheesy model in a rubber monster movie. At that point, I got completely carried away. It was a useful exercise that improved my skills in using layers to blend in the Godzilla image.

I'm not sure I want to visit your city.

I'm still laughing my butt off! Fun and creative shot, and is that Mothra rising from the horizon?

The swirly lines are a moire pattern from my monitor. I did some blurring and noise reduction to try to minimize them, but it was a trade-off. I could not totally obliterate them without killing other details. I know there is some trick to getting a clean shot from a monitor, as I have see others do it effectively.

This is great. Godzilla is not that apparent in the thumbnail, so the "meaning" of I got carried away did not hit me till I looked at the full size. The shoehorn and Godzilla PP is pretty seamless and looks "real". There are some swirly lines in the grass and sky that are a little out of place.

Cool idea. A little more cropped of the bottom would be better but great old style image.

This is so awesome, and looks like it is a scene out of an old monster movie..... I love it.....
