I feel like this has much potential for DNMC. It's not really a crime, and it's more like caught red handed than the post crime CSI type crime scene deal. But this was the first idea that popped in my head and I just thought it was really cute and maybe people would get the joke. I just wish I'd had a kid around to pose for me. I know it's cliche but hopefully it's a nice respite from all the blood and gore everyone is so worried about (personally I can't wait to see what everyone else comes up with).

Post:
Thanks everyone for the comments! In retrospect, I definitely made the hand to light. I was trying to make the cookie stand out against it, but it had the oposite effect. Funny how clear things are once someone points it out. Again, thanks!

Cute idea. My fave part about this is the lighting on the jar. Looks very clear and the cookies look yum too :D

Compositionally, the diagonal you establish betwee the lid and the hand is good. It gives a definitive "line" to the shot, and adds a bit of interest or action to it. That said, the straight on perspective makes the shot seem a bit static. The lower perspective is better, I think, than one that is even, but perhaps if it were "turned" some, more dof could be defined, and it would have more depth to it. Also, it feel a bit tilted to the right to me.

Technically, you have done well with exposing the glass correctly. That can be difficult. the hand and the lid, though, appear to be just a touch off. That makes the shot have the impression that it is out of focus, because the two "anchor" points are not crisp. Overall, it feels like a touch more contrast would also help it to be a bit more dynamic.

Overall, I think you did meet the challenge, though arguably, stealing a cookie isn't a crime (unless you are shoplifting it), but the idea was good, and it was kinda nice to not see all blood, gore and violence.

Good work and best to you in future challenges.

They say "caught red handed". Here the grass reflection gives the had a green shade! But I like the concept and the humor behind the shot. Goes to my fav!

Very well thought out picture. No distractions, everything in the picture works together. Overall great lighting, the hand seems a bit light to me.

The reflection is a little distracting to me. It was a nice idea for a studio type setting. But given the subject, I think a kitchen scene would have been appropriate. I still like it though.

Good concept but the grass reflecting on the right side of the jar distracts from the photo IMO

does not work as a crime scene for me. There is nothing here.
