While trying to get the darn lens focused (almost did it!), my subject decided to leave. I really do have to work on focusing speed!

I believe this is a type of butterfly called an Artic Skipper or Carterocephalus palaemon.

Looks like a skipper, and there are many kinds. I expect to start seeing quite a few when my Coneflowers start blooming. They don't sit still as long as other butterflies (in my experience) so kudos on getting the middle one pretty sharply, and enough detail on the other shots to make an interesting sequence.

Love the colours and framing. Subject a bit soft, but the sequence is cool - rather a coup to get that one in flight.
