My fave of your efforts so far. You managed the exposure very well, the sword is lit without blinding highlights, and looks great against the deep black background. I like the composition, too. |

There's nothing better than shooting what you love! The DOF is fine as is, and I imagine it you'd have to have a very long exposure if you really stopped down. Had you chosen to do that it may have been a good opportunity to paint some light onto other parts of the sword, yet that's just a creative choice. |

I like the DOF on this. I think that if you had focused on any other part, it just wouldn't be the same; wouldn't have the same impact. |

You really nailed the emphasis on texture and detail on the sabre...for a static object there's a lot of life here. |

I like the DoF here as well. I would love to see a diptych - two shots, one from each end of the sword. or 3 - one straight shot of the side. I wish I had a sword lying around my office. Would you trade for a torch and a pitchork? :) |

Personally I like the DOF. The one thing I would have liked to see done would have been to have the sword at angle instead of straight up. |

Ain't it fun to shoot what you love? Very nice shot. Rich and powerful, full of class and purpose. |
