Honeysuckle, the Japanese kind, which is taking over the front of my yard. Pretty with all those cool stamens and shadows thereof in the late afternoon, but I still need to rip most of it out. I should really plant the native kind, I suppose (I didn't plant this; it just showed up a few years ago).

The sheen makes them reminiscent of some alien creature's gaping mouth all slathered up with saliva. Neat shot with the floweres all bunched up together, projecting in different directions. Like the dark background, but wish a little bit more of the flowers was lit (the filaments and anthers especially get a little lost in the darkness for me).

I've never seen one of these, nice looking plant. Really dark background did you take this later at night?

Nice and sharp. Good shine on the petals versus the matte leaves - don't often notice the shine. We've got 2 versions of this (early and late, one more fragrant than the other) which I am trying to keep in check on a fence; one of my earliest memories, like trevytrev's.

I love the smell of honey suckle, it takes me back to the day of being a kid and trying to get as much of the sugar out of them as possible. Nicely done.

These are really cool. Your lighting makes them look like slick little aliens reaching out to their surroundings. Beautiful contrast between the yellow and the greens.

Nice, I can almost smell the intoxicating scent of this Honeysuckle. I love the summer when our whole house fan is on and the windows are open and I drift off to sleep with the smell of Honeysuckle carrying me there.
Oooooh, that was nearly poetic ... and your photo did it!

hi Mary! saw this floating about the browse section so stopped in to take a peak~
lovely light, really makes for a sweet image that small delicate flower and its shadows.

the contrast b/tw the bloom color and the leaves is great!

The delicate look of the flowers and stamens is greatly accentuated by the dark background and shadows. Pity you will have to rip them all out but it seems those flowers that just show up want to "take over the world!"

Mary - really nice lighting, the darkness really helps these delicate flowers stand out.
