I promise no more uniform items for this challenge. My models wouldn't cooperate with me today.

Thanks for the comments. I may reshoot this, but with a different angle. Toddhead and I are friends.

I agree you should shoot what you want, especially in a side challenge! These colors look great against the dark background. If this were for a magazine or something, I'd say to bounce a little fill light so the green and white medal isn't so shadowed. Maybe a deeper DOF would bring the lower bars into focus, too (only if you want them to be!), but you'd need to steady the camera for the slower shutter speed.

I see you were a recruiter and on MSG duty. Too scared to be a DI? Oh, that's right, they don't let "your type" be Drill Instructors...

The medals catch the eye quite well, but just in case your arrangement of the uniform really helps the red trim guide the eye through the photo.

Shoot all marine corp related stuff you want, photography as a hobby should be about what you're passionate about or is important to you...and it's definitely something of which to be proud. You can also really challenge yourself in finding new and interesting ways to photograph something. Kind of like what they are doing in that objects side-challenge.

Don't worry about the uniform items, I find them quite fascinating. I really like your composition and it looks like you put a bit of thought into it. Just a couple suggestions - a bit more light the left ribbon and I'd clone out that little spot in lower right corner. I sure do know how to nitpick, don't I? :)

Much better than day 1 :) The DOF is great as is the composition. Brings the eye right to the medals :)

Just a uniform to some - but pride to others. Nice composition
