Day 2, wild and beautiful swan
This guy (don't know for sure, just a hunch) swims all alone in a pond on my way home from work. Some day I'm going to happen along (with camera) and he'll be real close and I'll catch a good (and close) shot of him.
Until then, this will have to do.

It's so hard to photograph white birds without blowing out the highlights. If you shoot RAW, sometimes the detail can be recovered. I like the green water, as it is nicely reflecting the surroundings. The swan does look lonely with its head bowed like that.

That is a very nice swan! It's a shame the water is all greeny though =)

Bright light, bright swan, bright water - for me it is the water that sets this up.

Swans always look so calm and elegant, they are fascinating to watch.

Such a beautiful animal. I love how you also got the circles in the water too.

Swans are great ... if you want him to come closer try taking some food with you, I think stale bread will do the trick :)

With knowing that he hangs out in the pond, it might be worth a trip out, camera in hand, near sunrise or sunset one day to try and get him in the "sweet" light.

That's so sad that he's alone. Maybe the ugly duckling just hasn't found his group yet!

Such graceful birds. I'd enjoy seeing one regularly, too.
