A technique to try in future, replicate this shot but towards the end of the exposure, blast a full power flash onto the building and tower a couple of times to bring back some detail in them. It might work, it might not but it'd be interesting to see.

Like the idea, would've personally taken it from a different angle, looks a tad noisy or that could just be the screen im using . . . .

would have been more powerful image if more of the sky has been shown....

Though I like the shot, I wish it could have been taken from further away, so you wouldn't have the angles that result from being close to the bottom of a tall object.

Great stars
06/06/2008 01:31:41 PM
Giving 1..Noise no compo..and i doubt that stars were added in pp..

wow what a beautiful sky. i'm not crazy aboout the top of your tower being cut off
06/06/2008 02:38:57 AM
Nice silhouette to emphasis the night sky.
06/06/2008 02:38:22 AM
Great image, awful light pollution.
06/05/2008 10:23:08 PM
perhaps a little dark, but a very nice shot 7
06/05/2008 09:32:46 PM
nice light/dark contrast. I know this scene well.
06/05/2008 07:04:48 PM
i like the sillhouettes here.
06/05/2008 04:47:56 PM
so many stars! I actually find the border to be a bit distracting tho
06/05/2008 03:18:43 PM
too dark for my monitor, the towed disappears halfway up until I tilt the screen
06/05/2008 01:24:54 PM
Very interesting idea, colors seem really muted to me.
06/05/2008 09:24:23 AM
Great.

This shot might be a bit brigther IMHO, but nice nevertheless.
06/05/2008 02:05:32 AM
Too much noise. I like the composition.

When I clicked on this photo, something said to me: 'This will be the blue ribbon winner'. It's not my favorite of the bunch but it seems very 'DPC-ish' to me. I'll stick with that thought and help with a 10.

Simple, meets the challenge, not bad at all...
Unfortunately very noisy, not obvious to avoid that with a long exposure, perhaps a bit more postprocessing was needed
06/04/2008 01:33:16 PM
Very nice. "Stairways to heaven" came to mind. The white frame is a bit overpowering, though.
06/04/2008 01:32:15 PM
Very Nice!
06/04/2008 07:24:43 AM
great subject, good exposure. you should look furether at the noise reduction in the light polluted clouds
06/04/2008 06:49:29 AM
I like the bits of orangey reds and how the stars are visible still in the sky
06/04/2008 03:33:16 AM
Nice job!
06/04/2008 01:27:10 AM
I have never seen a sky with that many stars. Must be incredible to actually see in person.

not crazy about the border
