I struggled with this week's theme. I couldn't come up with a two-person partnership in my surroundings that would make for an interesting photo, so I decided to think differently about it. I came up with several types of partners that weren't two people and decided on 'eyes'. I've been wanting to find the right occasion for a wide angle face closeup. I was voting on the Female Portrait challenge and LOVED this image luminous and was inspired by it (I don't know the artist yet but THANK YOU for the inspiration... I love your image!). Anyway, I'm guessing people won't go for my interpretation of 'Partners' but I'm happy with the image.

chris,
Im so pleased and honoured that you even chose to interpret my work! its such a cool thing to see how others look at your work and say, "hey, i want to show that in my way!"

back to your photo, i love it. The eyes are perfect, they dont overpower the image, but are strong enough to make the statement.
sepia is awesome, its my second favorite tone to use besides black and white, they just bring so much more emotion to an image.
The softness you made the skin is so nice and cream-like, really nice.

all in all, extremely well done, people sometimes dont stretch their minds far enough in challenges and consider anything that isnt suggested in the title, "shoehorn"

keep up the awesome work, thanks for the comment!

Another nice photo from your folio. I rather prefer this shot to the one that inspired you.

I suppose this would have worked better in another challenge, but this really is a superb image. The eyes really jump out and grab your attention... which is of course perfect, with the subject being the eyes. Mesmerizing photo.

I'm not sure I can make the leap to consider eyes being partners - while they certainly work together, they also never see, touch or interact with one another. This is a nice capture and would've done well in the female portrait challenge.

Good sharp focus on the eyes, however, the wide angle lens has distorted the face a little. Well done for not centralising the subject in the frame.

The details stand out in this picture, but it should have been left in color. Something should have been done to make the eyes stand out more, such as leaving them in color.

A single subject doesn't work for the partners theme for me. Nice picture though.

Striking. I wonder about meeting the challenge. The more I think about it the more it seems to.

Lovely photo, but I think it's a stretch for the category.

I do like how the rest was desaturated and the eyes were not. Adds to the overall effect of the shot.
