I am working my way through a new cookbook/travel book/photography book which is loaded with "I wish I'd taken that picture" shots. The recipes look pretty good, too!

This is my wannabe shot for the day.

Before people start yelling at me about "noise", the dish probably dates from around 1900 and was not fired in an electric kiln. It has lots of imperfections. It was also hand painted. If anyone is curious, here it is in b&w.

Very simple and yet very detailed. Your colors work very well and the wood grain adds even more interest to this. Great composition.

I'm not seein' anything that could be mistaken as noise at all. The color combination of spoon is quite interesting. This is nice you done good!

I prefer this over the B&W version, the aqua & yellow go together so well. If only it didn't have that noise in the bowl. j/k. Nice job.

A very nice study of texture and color - well balanced, very good light.

Hey, Germaine, nice to be sharing another side challenge with you. I remember how much I liked your street photos. This is nice, I definitely prefer the color version. Interesting visually with the pastels against the dark, grained table.

I really like the bright colours against the dark background. I also like the texture of the table.

Love the colors of the bowl and the spoon. The background comes across as a little muddy, but that may just be my monitor.

I like the leading lines of the wood and then the POP of the colour of the bowl. Your f8 for DOF was an excellent choice.

Very nice. Now, with such an old bowl, would you feel happy having noodles in it? ;-)

Colour is great, I love the imperfections in the bowl, they're beautiful. The grain in the wood is pretty terrific too. I'm curious to know your aperture.

I don't see any noise at all! What I see is a very colourful shot. I really like the wood background. It certainly sets off the colourful pottery well.
