Just for fun... My son, the drummer, subject of my first experimentations with selective desat.

LOL!! Very playfully semi-evil grin if that makes sense. For a kid who's a drummer, this is a portrait he probably really likes, which makes it very good. Lighting (for what I know) is very good, and I do like the way his face is reflected in the cymbal.

I see a lot of selective desat that looks like its done just because they can. This - with the eyes matching the cymbal - is very very good use of it. My son who is 6 and just starting drum lessons wants me to do this to him now. Better start practicing selective desat myself.
