While on our tour of Neuschwanstein, this teenaged gentleman, there with his parents, was quite absorbed with a scifi novel he had with him. At the end of the tour, there was a room with a model of the castle in a glass case. The young man took a seat on a bench at the end of that room, and is partially blocked by the side of the glass case, creating a bit of a disorienting illusion.

Original:

I'm always open to editing suggestions!

And yes, in response to Nikolaos' question, there is another guy on the other side of the glass case, though I think what you can see is the reflection of someone to the left of the shot.

Re-edit:

I prefer this version over the re-edit; the darker tones add a bit of mystery to the overall effect. That guy must sure have been digging that novel to not even notice you were there taking his photo.

definitely an illusion to this shot. I also noticed that there is a face in the pattern through the window, very interesting.

Really neat the way the mirror effect of the case manages to cut the gentleman in half but keeps the integrity of the rest of the image. Way cool!

I love the optical illusion feel to this. The black and white version is much better (IMO) than the color.

Edited to add, I wonder if more detail in his face would change the photo too much, you might play with Highlight and Shadow to see what it does.

Super capture. I'm glad you put the explanation in. You really had me going for a bit. I thought it was some sort of a diptych.

I like the somber feel of this. Maybe meditative would be a better word. ;~)
