 Taken at Memorial Day observance military event.
Took at f1.8 to try to remove as much distracting background as possible, but background was too close and still some distractions are in it. Cropped out red on top, but cropping out the background on the right would remove too much decoration from the uniform.
I took several "portraits" of US Marines just for this challenge. This looked the best, with the slight smirk in his lips showing pride. He was also decorated better than the color guard pictures. Alternatives were old retired soldiers, but they didn't have as much apparant character as I had hoped for.

Added fill light in Camera Raw, reduced exposure and sharpened. Imported to PS.

Pride. Justified pride. But think he needs framed centrally even with no decals on his right hand side.

even though it is part of the uniform, the gold laces are really distracting from looking at the subject.
