Processing seems harsh. Too much noise reduction maybe?

The lighting and monochrome conversion are good despite some imperfections in the jpg conversion. However, I'm not 'getting anything' from their expressions and can't connect emotionally with the subjects in the way I'm looking for in this challenge.

great soft focus, but the heavy shadows on the left create a distraction.

Love the cross-lighting, particularly the rim light on the left subject. The background is a little busy, and I'd like it better if the subjects were closer together (their heads, particularly).
