Not much here to hold interest. If your subject is the dock, it might help to get closer to it or employ some other technique to bring the viewer's eye to it. The dappled lighting from the tree is more apparent on the grass, and so it misses the mark. This distractions in the water don't help either.

You have the makings of a really good shot here. Cropping in so that the trees are on the edges of your shot would have removed that dock and bouy and really given the viewer something to focus on.

Not scoring based on this observation but I question something here. I see the obvious dappled light, but it is treated as a shadow here. Seems to me the dappled light here doesn't "effect" the picture - it isn't immersive enough in this case. That being said, i am voting based on everything else, beside my impressions on the treatment of dappled light by your work here. Cool title too.

The picture looks a bit flat. Deeper depth of field could help give it more clarity. Or maybe it is contrast? You could go back and try it a bit later during a day, when the shadows are more intense and longer.
