this dove is nesting in a juniper tree in my courtyard, suprisingly it let me get only a couple of feet away with the camera and I used zoom. Flipped image, cropped Brightness, contrast, color sat., color hue (warmer), gaussian blur, sharpen.

Nobody better say that any part of the dove is blown out because it took very meticulous effort to make sure that DIDN'T happen! off my soap box now :) I hope people like the diagonal composition. I normally wouldn't do that but it was just soooo boring when I tried it horizontally. Also the curve of the tail feathers looks better this way imo.

Aptly titled ;-) And nicely exposed to handle the dapple.

Nice dappling, but I'm unsure about the tilted perspective and composition.

I'm usually a fan of the diagonal compositions, however here it makes it feel like the bird is going to fall from the nest. The lighting is handled wonderfully though, with a nice balance of light and dark.

Subtle colour scheme, not very DPC. I would tilt it a bit to the right to make themain subject horizontal. I think it would enhance coposition. Beautiful detail. Nice dappled light.

Good job in using the light to create a feeling of "softness" to this shot.

The image meets the challenge nicely, but for me the compositon lets the photo down a little. I think its the angle of the dove that I find 'jarring', it just looks a little awkward. There may well have been potential here, but I think the composition just lets it down. Good effort all the same though!
