Challenge: Portrait of a Camera (Advanced Editing VII)
Camera: Nikon D40X
Lens: Nikon AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor 55-200mm f/4.0-5.6G ED
Location: My House
Date: May 17, 2008
Aperture: f13
ISO: 100
Shutter: 30
Date Uploaded: May 18, 2008

Taken in my hallway at home :P
Tea light candles wrapped in a cheap film from the local chemist
Took different shots, some including caldigraphy letters, photo albums and other cameras
However, this was still a rush job, but its all experience :)
Editing was simply a quick crop, levels adjustment followed by a final inverse of the picture for effect.
Came out interesting i think, and thanks to my mum for letting me borrow her old camera :)
thanks

Greetings from the critique club.

I didn't vote on your image during the challenge deliberately. I like the idea you had and appreciated the fact you tried something different. Conceptually its a great idea. In practice? Its hard to look at. Its a very bright image done this way and there's not a lot of detail. The eye is drawn to the black spots and there isn't really anything there to see.

Overall, great idea that was a hard sell to this audience. I would suggest and encourage trying things like this out.

Sorry, I just didn't like this. I don't think inverting the image helped in this case.

A very unappealing image (to me). There seem to be a few shots in this challenge that are trying some weird 'techniques' which really don't seem to be enhancing the image at all, IMHO. I'd like to see how the shot looked straight from the camera.
