Very taken with this. For some reason this meets my idea of dappled light way more than most. (Not at all taken with the title).

Or5iginal attepmpt. I think you could show the model eyes, and avoid cutting humans at their joints (wrest in this case). It would've make a great story and enhance the composition. I like the background and dappled light use. Good contrast and sharpness.

I like this a lot, but it seems a little grey to me, and I would like it more if I could see the person's face

Your shot suggests a lazy morning to me but your use of B&W removes most of the warmth from the image. Shooting this in a warm light (white balance) might have helped with that.
