 My mother's day gift - trip to the Narcisse Snake Dens in Manitoba - supposed to be the world's largest red-sided garter snake dens. Not too many snakes out, still a little too chilly but this guy was a willing model.

Cropped, converted to bw, levels and contrast.

Add me to the list of those who thought it was something else from the thumbnail. This is really good to see in B&W and good DOF. I'm not too fond of having the snake mostly at the center; perhaps a bit off the top and left would help the composition. Just my opinion, of course.

What a cutie! Lovely capture and great DOF. This works so well in BW. From the thumb it looked like a fat piece of wire.

Cool! Hard to tell what it was from the thumb, so it was a nifty surprise when it opened. An odd but very interesting mother's day gift!
